Working as a Certified Dental Assistant I realized I wanted to become a dental hygienist. I returned to school and graduated in 1978 from Niagara college as a registered dental hygienist.
I love this career. It is very satisfying to be able to help patients improve their dental health. Working in an up to date office that is conscientious about all aspects of Heath and Safety and continuing education is a key factor.
Many years have allowed me to create long term relationships with clients and the dental team. We are a tight knit group. Working towards being in a “mindfulness” practice to improve attentiveness, listening, empathy, patience and presence. All of these qualities build a better patient relationship and reduces anxiety.
Outside the dental office I have a wonderful husband and 3 married Children. Grandchildren have started to arrive. I love being with family and sharing good food and recipes.
