Set Your Smile Up For Success With Orthodontics
February 28, 2019
As dentists who cater to the dental needs of your entire family, we offer a full range of orthodontic options that will help you or your loved ones achieve a straighter smile at any age.
At Erinwood Dental, we recognize the importance of a great smile. It boosts your confidence, helps you make a great first impression, and perhaps most important of all … avoid serious oral health problems that can require extensive treatment down the road.
When most people hear the word orthodontics, they usually think of braces for kids. But … there’s so much to it than that – we can help adults whose teeth don’t line up properly! Fast fact: About one in five orthodontic patients is between the ages of 20 and 26.
The most common malocclusion problems we see at our practice are crowded teeth, teeth spaced too far apart, protruding upper or lower teeth, and upper and lower front teeth that do not touch.
How do orthodontic treatments work? With a careful and gradual approach, we will shift your teeth into place over a period of months or years. We can correct a “bad bite” … and you’ll reap the benefits for years to come.
Some of the smile-enhancing treatments we’re proud to offer include:
- Invisalign® – This virtually undetectable treatment has come a long way in recent years. With a series of custom-made, clear aligners, we can help teens and adults get – and keep – a stand-out smile. In many cases, Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces, especially for young people who are concerned about being judged by their peers.
- Band & Bracket Orthodontics – We offer traditional braces … but now, they are far less noticeable than they used to be. Most of the metallic hardware associated with braces can be replaced by transparent or tooth-coloured plastic and thinner wires. In some cases, we can attach braces to the backs of teeth where they are out of sight, out of mind.
There you have it. Do you think orthodontics could make a difference to your smile or your child’s? If you think the answer is yes, or even maybe, contact us today to arrange an appointment. Your Dundas dental team would love to hear from you!
